Why are you passionate about environment? Being simple and complex at the same time. Favourite place: A quiet place in nature. Background: I studied ecology at the university and then got the master degree in environmental protection methods and its restoration. Surprising part about the project: You can find all the components of the environment in this project. Key learning from the project: beside the acquired knowledge on the specific thematic areas, the lessons learned and experience gained from the projects can prove highly valuable to the success of future projects.
Project's added value: of course, with its comprehensive coverage of environmental fields the project enabled us to obtain and improve our existing knowledge and build capacity in relevant fields. As a result of all of the components together, inter alia, the project provided great support to the implementation of the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) principles and practices in the country, as well.
Implemented actions: The knowledge gained from the project is used to improve the relevant field with higher participation, capacity-building efforts and disseminating the acquired knowledge within national departments.

Why are you passionate about environment: I think that clean and human friendly environment is one of the main factors of mankind’s successful life and development. Favourite places: Sea coast and mountains. Background: I am educated as an engineer-economist. I have worked as a head of department in Baku Statistical Committee from 1982 to 1994. I have been working in the Head Office of the State Statistical Committee since 1994 My present position is Head of the Energy and Environment Statistics Department. Surprising part about the project: I think the project is well-planned and all its parts (especially indicators) are quite interesting and important for further application. Key learning from the project: Methodology for developing indicators on SEEA and their use for the integrated environmental assessments. Project's added value: Sharing of EU and EEA countries experiences, mainly through the EEAcademy, and disseminating new information to the stakeholders and users of the environmental information. Implemented actions: Published all the relevant information on our website and shared it for wider use.
