Training on environmental accounting - first cycle
The training course will be held in “Maison de la Teledetection” Premises in Montpellier, France
from the 28 August to the 1 September 2017 and it will cover main aspects of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (or SEEA), with a focus on accounting for natural capital, land, water, carbon, ecosystem services and biodiversity. It will cover the theoretical and practical aspects of environmental accounting thorough hands-on exercises within the policy framework. Examples are drawn from around the world, and information resources are discussed and explored in practical sessions
The design of the training will provide a broad understanding of the environmental accounts, for those in charge with developing, implementing and using environmental accounts.
It is expected that participants have worked professionally in disciplines related to environmental accounting, including environmental science and policies, ecological economics, natural resource management, national accounting or statistics.
