EEA, ETC/ICM and InfoRAC from UNEP/MAP are organising a “Workshop for the delineation of subdivisions relevant for MSFD assessments/reporting in the Mediterranean Sea” that will take place the 21-22 June 2017, in ISPRA headquarters at Rome.

The workshop will touch a number of relevant issues related to the use of assessment and reporting units in the Mediterranean and it will aim to delineate subdivisions within the Mediterranean subregions, where needed for the different MSFD descriptors and UNEP/MAP (IMAP) assessments/reporting (in 2018 or beyond). This will include coherence of reporting units across the descriptors, as foreseen in the new GES Decision.

Expected participants to this workshop are Mediterranean Member States members of the Working Groups GES and DIKE. This invitation will be forwarded by UNEP/MAP to non-EU countries, in order to ensure coordination and tentative participation of all contracting parties.  Representatives of Bulgaria and Romania (for Black Sea region) are also welcome to participate.

Meeting documents, as well as presentations will be available at the following link: https://circabc.europa.eu/w/browse/b5c0c6cd-c668-4299-878b-b05152cf4c9f
