UN environment /MAP - regional meeting on IMAP Implementation: best practice, gaps and common challenges

In accordance with the UNEP/MAP Programme of Work 2018-2019 adopted by the 20th Ordinary Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its protocols (Tirana, Albania, 17-21 December 2017) and in line with the objectives of the EU funded EcAp-MED II Project, the UN environment /MAP Secretariat organised a regional meeting on IMAP1 implementation, best practices, gaps and common challenges. 

The main objectives of the Meeting  were to:

 i                    Review of the state of play of the IMAP implementation;

ii                    Exchange best practice on national implementation of IMAP and address identified challenges;

iii                   Discuss and provide guidance on the development of the IMAP compatible information and data sharing system;

iv                   Initiate a discussion on several cross cutting issues of regional importance for IMAP implementation.
