The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) hosted a kick-off meeting for ecoportal development. The meeting was opened by the representatives of the MENR, followed by the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan.

Relevant divisions and departments of the MENR, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Health, the State Statistical Committee, the Azerbaijan Irrigation and Water Management OJSC[MS1] , the Azersu OJSC, the Azerenerji OJSC, as well as representatives of the EU Delegation, the EEA and EU WI+ and UNDP/GEF Kura II projects attended this kick-off meeting.

The meeting aimed to define the scope, features, products, content and functionalities of the ecoportal, to identify roles and responsibilities between the water agencies of Azerbaijan and the EEA, and to clarify the coordination and possible synergies with the EU WI+ and UNDP/GEF Kura II projects.

During the meeting the stakeholders had interactive discussions and made suggestions on the ecoportal’s structure. This meeting delivered a roadmap for the ecoportal development and implementation.
