24 November 2017 | Eastern Partnership leaders agree Joint Declaration at summit in Brussels

The 5th Eastern Partnership Summit took place on 24 November in Brussels. The leaders of all 28 Member States - together with Presidents Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker, as well as EU High Representative Federica Mogherini - participated in the Summit with the six Eastern Partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

At the Summit, leaders took stock of progress made since the Riga Summit in 2015, with a focus on the tangible impact the partnership brings to citizens in the Eastern Partnership region. They agreed on a Joint Declaration, the text of which is available here.

The EaP was launched in 2009 to promote political association and economic integration between the EU and its six Eastern Partner countries.
